There has been evidence to show that individuals who are highly stressed take longer to heal than those who are less stressed. Kiecolt-Glassers et al.’s study into the relationship between stress and healing assessed caregivers (a highly stressed population) versus a control group and found that highly stressed people took longer to heal their wounds (Kiecolt-Glasser et al., 1995).
