Medicine today cannot cure the majority of cases of illness that are seen in clinics. Doctors cannot cure the majority of important public health problems todayay. As a doctor, I would like to think we could. But in fact, we can only regularly cure one kind of illness: acute illness. Acute illness comes on quickly and goes away quickly. The flu is an acute illness. If you have the flu today, you are not going to have it 3 months from now.
