The Emperor has no Clothes. The Doctor Has No Cures

TheDoctorHasNoCuresOnce upon a time (like almost yesterday, eh) in Canada, there was a parade in a small town. The local doctor was in the parade, in a shiny red convertible. As one family watched the parade, a small boy exclaimed “I want to be a doctor when I grow up, and ride in a shiny red convertible.”

His sister, about 13 years old, responded “I don’t want to be a doctor like him. He doesn’t have any cures!” Continue reading

How Webster’s Editors Removed “CURE” From the Dictionary

WebstersMedicalDictionary-f-Cure-fThis story is fictional. However, it is based on facts, and the facts are clear.

The word ‘cure’ does not exist in Webster’s New World Medical Dictionary, Third Edition. As you can see in the image, the definitions for C, leap from CULTURE, over ‘cure’, ‘cures’, ‘cured’, and ‘curable’, to CURETTAGE.

I don’t know how it happened. I suspect that if we ask Webster’s, their publicity team will offer an official ‘no comment’. Continue reading

The Calculus of Illness

EveryIllnessCanBeCured

Every active illness is caused
by an active imbalance,

or inability to use balance,
to move forward in life.

Imbalance consists of deficiencies,
or of excesses.

Half of all the possible causes of illness are deficiencies;
Half of all the possible causes of illness are excesses.

An inability to balance can be due to a deficiency of balancing.
An inability to balance can be due to an excess of balancing.

An inability to balance can cause loss,  leading to a deficiency.
An inability to balance can cause congestion, a buildup of excess.

An illness of deficiency might be caused by a deficiency of restraint.
An illness of excess might be caused by an excess of restraint.

An illness of deficiency cannot be cured by less.
It can only be cured by the proper treatment – to meet the deficiency.

An illness of excess cannot be cured by more.
It can only be cured by the proper treatment – to address the excess.

Even the wealthiest person might suffer an illness of deficiency,
even without knowing it, much less without knowing or understanding the cause.

Even the poorest person might suffer an illness of excess,
even without knowing it, much less without knowing or understanding the cause.

Every illness can be cured. – The Healthcine Creed.

Life, the Magic of Community

IMG_8478-square-sWhere does life come from? How does life emerge from simple chemicals – or complex chemicals, for that matter.  It seems totally mysterious. There is nothing in physics or chemistry that can create life. Where does it come from? What’s the secret ingredient of life? Community. The force of community is an invisible force that pervades the hierarchy of life, pushing life forward and upwards.

In July 2010, I published the first post about the Hierarchy of Healthicine. Since that time I have published many posts, and two books about healthicine, based on the concepts in the hierarchy.

Yesterday, I found something completely new – the astonishing power of life that community provides throughout the entire hierarchy.

The hierarchy of healthicine began with a simple hierarchy of life, from genetics and nutrients to cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, body, minds, spirits.  When I created the diagram below, I saw the missing entity, community, at the top of the hierarchy. Continue reading
