In the cure of this fever, as in all others, we must vary our method according to its state. I {hail, therefore, distinguish it into three periods, and in each, propose thole remedies which I have found by experience to be the best. Let us suppose the first to continue as long as the person is able to go about; the second. to begin with his confinement, when the fever is apparent, the head much affected, but the pulse still full; and the third, when the pulse sinks, and a stupor comes on, with other symptoms already described.
